WHY NOT ON YOUR OWN?

Polar bear rules: outside Longyearbyen everyone must have polar bear protection – in practice that means a certified guide with a rifle.

Licensed operators only: snowmobiles, boats, ice caves and glaciers need licensed guides, equipment and permits.

Limited places: small groups sell out early – local contacts make the difference.

Weather decides: sea ice, wind and avalanche risk change daily – we know when and where to go.
