DOG SLEDDING TO SCOTT TURNER GLACIER

ABOUT
We are thrilled to welcome you on our picturesque dog sledding adventure! At the start of your tour, we will pick you up from the hotel where you are staying at the specified time. Since we collect guests from several hotels, please allow a few extra minutes for our arrival.
Your journey begins with a scenic drive by car to Green Dog’s Kennel, located about 12 km outside Longyearbyen. Upon arrival, we ensure everyone is comfortable and well-equipped by providing warm clothing and a detailed introduction to dog sledding.
The adventure continues as you pair up, two guests per dog sled, exploring the stunning, scooter-free landscapes. Throughout the tour, you will have the opportunity to swap between driving and relaxing on the sled, following your guide who leads the way with two guests on their sled. Our route winds through the beautiful Bolterdalen valley, up to the striking moraine terrain where the climb begins—here, you may be invited to help the sleds uphill, adding to the camaraderie and excitement.
Enjoy breathtaking views as we pause at the destination: the majestic Scott Turner Glacier. While the dogs take a well-deserved rest and enjoy a snack, you can unwind in our cozy cabin, where we light a birch wood fire and serve a light lunch. This is the perfect time to soak in the peaceful silence and remarkable surroundings. For your convenience, our cabin is equipped with an outdoor toilet, ideal for a full-day outing.
Once the dogs are refreshed, we embark on a gentle downhill ride through Bolterdalen, where you’ll experience the unique thrill of slowing the sled’s pace. Upon returning to the kennel, guests join together to settle the dogs back into their houses. To round off your day, we gather for delicious waffles, coffee, and perhaps a warm introduction to the playful puppies.
We look forward to having you join us on this unforgettable experience, where adventure, comfort, and the beauty of the Arctic await. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or let us know if you have special requests ahead of your scheduled tour date.
